PHOENIX, AZ – LPAC, the nation’s only lesbian and non-binary political action committee, has launched a $52,000 Independent Expenditure in the final stretch of the special election to support Deja Foxx for the AZ-07 congressional. The investment includes a direct mail campaign and targeted digital advertising aimed at turning out 90,000 Democratic voters ahead of election day. If elected, Ms. Foxx would be the youngest elected member to Congress since 1839 at age 25.
The investment follows a surge in support for Ms. Foxx, who has gained 25 points in the polls in just four weeks. LPAC’s effort focuses on communicating her trailblazing background as a former teen activist and policy advisor, and mobilizing the district’s crucial base of young and progressive voters. The effort is to ensure voters know about the election and the ground-breaking historic candidacy of Ms. Foxx.
"Deja Foxx represents the next generation of bold, unapologetic leaders our communities need in Congress," said LPAC Executive Director Janelle Perez. "As a queer woman of color, Deja knows firsthand what it means to fight for equity, access, and opportunity. She’s inspiring a movement of young people who are ready to lead. We’re proud to support her candidacy, put real resources behind her campaign in these final days and help push her over the finish line."
Deja Foxx is running to represent Arizona’s 7th Congressional District, a majority-Latino seat with a significant youth population. The special election will be held this Tuesday.
