LPAC Announces Pride Month 2023 Endorsement Slate

Washington D.C. (June 20, 2023) –  LPAC, the only organization dedicated to electing LGBTQ women to local, state, and federal office is thrilled to celebrate Pride Month by announcing our latest slate of 7 endorsees.

This endorsement slate includes LGBTQ women running coast to coast, from Congress to City Council. We are thrilled to be backing them in their elections. Find out more about each endorsed candidate below.

Julie Johnson, U.S. House of Representative (TX-32)

  • State Rep. Julie Johnson is running to make history as the first openly LGBTQ person to represent Texas in Congress! Julie was elected to the State House in 2018, and outside of politics is an attorney and longtime leader in the state.

Janessa Goldbeck, San Diego County Board of Supervisors

  • Janessa Goldbeck is running in a special election to represent the 3.3M people in San Diego County as a member of the Board of Supervisors. Janessa is a Marine Corps veteran, nonprofit leader, and community leader in San Diego. 

Raya Arbiol, New Jersey General Assembly

  • Raya Arbiol is a small business owner and Navy veteran running for a seat in the New Jersey General Assembly. If elected she would be one of the first openly LGBTQ women to serve in the New Jersey State Legislature!

Robyn Lady, Fairfax County School Board (VA)

  • Robyn Lady served Fairfax County Public Schools as an educator, counselor, and administrator for almost three decades and is now running for an open seat on the School Board. The Board oversees the largest school district in the Commonwealth of Virginia. 

Joeigh Perella, Cumberland County Board of Commissioners (NJ)

  • Joeigh Perella is a Democrat running to hold a seat on the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners in southern New Jersey. Outside of politics Perella is a dentist. She would be one of just a few openly transgender elected officials in the state.

Minita Sanghvi, Saratoga Springs Commissioner of Finance (NY)

  • Minita Sanghvi is running for a second term as the Saratoga Springs Commissioner of Finance, a role which sits on the City Council. Minita was first elected in 2021, LPAC was proud to endorse her in that election.

Ashley Shade, North Adams City Council (MA)

  • Ashley Shade is running for re-election to the North Adams City Council in Massachusetts. In 2021, Ashley was the first openly transgender person elected to office in Berkshire County. LPAC endorsed her in that race.
