Kelly Cassidy

 

 

Kelly Cassidy is running for re-election to the 14th district in the Illinois House of Representatives.

Rep. Cassidy was first elected in 2011. She previously served as the Legislative Director for the National Organization for Women and former Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and Director of Programs and Development in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.

As the only openly gay female member of the General Assembly, she has helped pass progressive legislation involving criminal justice reform, women’s rights, and the LGBTQ community. She led the effort to ban conversion therapy in the State, which was then used as a model for other States.
