Deb Butler is a Democrat running for re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives’ 18th District.

Butler was appointed to the seat in 2017 and won her election to a full term in 2018. She was re-elected with LPAC’s endorsement in 2020.

Butler is an attorney and North Carolina native. She received significant national media attention for protesting the Republican Speaker calling a surprise veto override vote on the House floor.

Butler is focused on public education, Medicaid expansion in North Carolina, and addressing climate change, air and water quality.
