Sade Elhawary

Sade Elhawary is a Democrat running for a solidly Democratic seat in the California State Assembly that covers parts of south and southeastern LA.

Elhawary is the daughter of immigrants and was the first in her family to go to college. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from UCLA and master’s from Harvard Graduate School of Education, she has worked as a youth organizer and policy advocate for more than 12 years.

Elhawary is focused on housing, healthcare, and education. Her supporters include LA Mayor Karen Bass, U.S. Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove, and multiple labor groups.
