Renitta Shannon

State Rep. Renitta Shannon is a Democrat who ran for Lieutenant Governor of Georgia.

Shannon was first elected in to the State House in 2016, defeating a conservative Democratic incumbent. She was re-elected in 2018 and 2020.

Outside of politics, she has held jobs working in business development. She came out as bisexual in 2017 and has been a strong supporter of reproductive rights during her time in the legislature. Her priorities are providing economic justice for workers, fostering racial justice, and promoting gender equality.
