Kris Haines-Sharp

Kris Haines-Sharp is running for election to a full term on the Ithaca Common Council in New York. She was first appointed to the Council in 2023.

Haines-Sharp is a former middle school and high school English teacher, and has worked with adults and children learning English as a new language. She later served as a school administrator. Prior to her work in schools, Kris worked as a baker, a medical assistant for Planned Parenthood, a retail manager for a non-profit. She has also worked in the gig economy as a freelance grant writer and gardener.

Her priorities this election cycle include climate justice (including the Ithaca Green New Deal), promoting affordable housing, and public health and safety.
