Jennifer Tran
Dr. Jennifer Tran is a Democrat running for the U.S. House of Representatives in California’s 12th district, covering parts of Oakland and Berkeley.
Dr. Tran is the daughter of Vietnamese immigrants and was born and raised in Oakland. She is an ethnic studies professor at California State University, a small business owner, and a community organizer who has been involved in local politics for over 10 years. She also serves as the President of the Oakland Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce, where she works to provide language access, mental health support, and culturally competent technical assistance to immigrant, minority, and women-owned small businesses.
Dr. Tran is focused on public safety and accountability within law enforcement, affordable housing, and supporting small businesses.
