Gia Drew

Gia Drew is a Democratic candidate for the Maine State House’s 9th district.

Drew is the Program Director at Equality Maine, where she oversees education, rural outreach, and youth programming. She is the immediate past Board President of the Maine Transgender Network. She previously was a high school teacher and coach for 20 years. She was one of the first out transgender athletic coaches in the country.

Drew’s priorities are improving access to behavioral and mental health care, addressing sexual assault and domestic violence, and protecting LGBTQ rights.
