Demi Palecek

Demi Palecek is running for the Illinois House of Representatives.

Born to an immigrant Mexican mother and a father proud of his Bronx roots, Demi Palecek enlisted in the military right after graduating from high school. As a young Security Forces member, Demi was sexually assaulted and went on to become a fierce advocate for survivors while transitioning to the Army National Guard.

Demi continues her vital work defending transgender soldiers' rights and combating sexual harassment in our military. Demi also served as Communications Director for Operation Swing State for Harris/Walz and organized the 2025 International Women’s March in Chicago.
