Deja Alvarez

Deja Alvarez is a Democrat running for election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in the 182nd District.

Alvarez is a long-time community leader and activist, and would be the first openly transgender person to serve in the Pennsylvania Legislature. She previously ran for Philadelphia City Council, placing in the top 10 out of 50 candidates.

Alvarez’s campaign themes are focused on economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, LGBTQ representation and equality, and affordable healthcare. She has been endorsed by outgoing State Rep. Brian Sims, State Sen. Sharif Street and other elected officials.
