Christine Hallquist

 

 

In 2018, Christine Hallquist made history in Vermont when she became the first trans person nominated for governor by a major party.

A longtime leader in the energy sector, she joined Vermont Electric Coop as an engineering and technology consultant, bringing a background in process engineering from her work with leading information technology companies and consulting for top manufacturers.

In 2000, she became engineering and operations manager, and then its CEO in 2005.

Over the years, Hallquist has also served her community as a town meeting moderator and a member of economic development and mental health boards.

Hallquist and her wife have three children and two grandchildren.
