Joy Hollingsworth

 

 

Joy Hollingsworth is running for an open seat on the Seattle City Council in Washington. If elected, she would restore LGBTQ representation to the Council.

Hollingsworth was born and raised in District 3. After playing basketball professionally in Athens, Greece, she returned to Seattle and earned a Masters in Education from the University of Washington. Hollingsworth is a small business owner and nonprofit leader, working with over 400 food banks to improve food access across the state.

Hollingsworth placed first in the August primary by 90 votes and will face Alex Hudson, former Executive Director of the Transportation Choices Coalition, in the general election.
