Veronica Pejril

 

 

Veronica Pejril is a Democrat running for the Indiana State Senate. When elected to the Greencastle City Council, she became the first out trans person elected to public office in the state.

Pejril was elected to the Greencastle City Council in 2019, becoming Indiana’s first openly transgender elected official. Outside of politics, Veronica is active with 100 Women Who Care of Putnam County, the Housing Stability Committee, Greencastle NAACP Unit 3051, and she serves on the Board of Directors for Main Street Greencastle.

After time as a stay-home parent and as a K-8 music teacher, Veronica now leads DePauw University’s instructional technology team and is a part-time Assistant Professor of Music.
