Stephanie Byers

Stephanie Byers is a Democrat running for election to the Kansas House of Representatives’s 86th district.

Byers is a retired band and orchestra teacher who worked in Wichita schools for almost 30 years. She would be the first openly trans person elected to any level of office in Kansas.

Her priorities are protecting funding for pubic education, expanding Medicaid, and amending the Kansas Act Against Discrimination to include sexual orientation and gender identity.
