Pat Spearman

 

 

State Senator Pat Spearman is running to be the first LGBTQ person to serve as Mayor of North Las Vegas, Nevada.

Spearman currently serves in the Nevada State Senate. She was first elected in 2012 after defeating a Democratic incumbent in the primary election. In the Senate she has been an advocate for LGBTQ and women’s issues in particular. Spearman retired from the U.S. Army after serving for 29 years, and was previously elected to the school board in San Marcos, Texas.

Her priorities are economic development, creating greater access to affordable housing, and expanding renewable energy in North Las Vegas. She will also look at improving equality and diversity within city government. Spearman has been endorsed by Victory Fund and IBEW.
