Karen Bolton

Dr. Karen Bolton is running for re-election to the Bremerton School Board of Directors in Washington.

Dr. Bolton was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. After dropping out of high school, she joined the navy, where she went on to become an officer and serve more than 20 years, receiving numerous medals and letters of commendation. After retiring from the navy, Dr. Bolton returned to school and ultimately earned her PhD. She went on to work as a professor at Olympic College in Bremerton for 14 years. In 2019, she was elected unopposed to the school board.

Dr. Bolton is focused on equity and accessibility and students’ rights. Dr. Bolton is being challenged by a Moms for Liberty-supported candidate.
