Julie Lythcott-Haims

 

 

Palo Alto Councilmember Julie Lythcott-Haims is running for Congress in California’s 16th district. If elected, she would be the first out LGBTQ Black woman elected to Congress.

Lythcott-Haims is a parent, educator, lawyer, former Stanford Dean, Palo Alto Councilmember, and author. She was first elected to the Palo Alto City Council in 2022. Lythcott-Haims is a New York Times best-selling author, and has published three nonfiction books on human development.

The district covers the South Bay Area, Mid-Peninsula, and coastal San Mateo County. Lythcott-Haims is working to build a progressive coalition of support. Lythcott-Haims is the only woman in the 11-way race.
