Gabriela Santiago-Romero is running to represent District 6 on the Detroit City Council. This is an open seat.

Santiago-Romero is an activist and nonprofit leader. She has lived in Southwestern Detroit for most of her life. In 2020 she ran for the Wayne County Commission and lost by just 1,000 votes.

Her priorities are community safety for all district residents, improved access to affordable housing, and infrastructural development and environmental justice. She has been endorsed by SEIU, the Victory Fund, a number of labor unions, and many federal, state, and local elected officials.
